Gigi’s Playhouse is a national organization, for the first northeast Ohio location, The Krueger Group renovated a storefront in downtown Lakewood to be equal parts functional and empowering.

Collaborating with industry partners and vendors, we transformed a 3,180 square-foot storefront into a dynamic space that embodies the core values of the organization – learning, achievement, and inspiration. From vibrant colors to open, welcoming spaces, every element was thoughtfully designed with the goal of being easily replicated for future playhouses, all while maintaining a unique, uplifting atmosphere.

Key features of the new playhouse include:

• A platform stage with a custom mural backdrop showcasing the Cleveland skyline.
• Kitchen area for cooking classes and community engagement.
• Learning and resource library to support educational development.
• Open gym/play area designed for active exploration.
• Service area for family support and resources.
• Two learning labs designed for focused educational activities.
• Multipurpose/teen room that can be adapted for a variety of needs.
• A site coordinator’s office, positioned behind a 5’6” x 8’6” tempered one-way mirror that overlooks the play area, ensuring visibility and security.

This flagship location embodies the spirit of Gigi’s Playhouse and sets the standard for future spaces across the country.
