Youth Challenge

Youth Challenge (YC) is a center for children with physical disabilities ranging from 4 to 18 years old that provides programming that includes indoor and outdoor activities. For their long overdue new headquarters, The Krueger Group participated in the site selection, acquisition, and total renovation of an 18,000 square feet former warehouse facility in Westlake, Ohio.

In addition to office space for staff, the building serves as a haven for the program participants and the countless volunteers who use the facility every day. Upon completion, the facility incorporated the following features under one roof:

• (6) Private offices and (1) kitchenette.
• (1) Conference room.
• Board room/volunteer room.
• Maker space.
• Art studio.
• Weight room.
• Professionally landscaped internal courtyard with paver stone walk and water feature off the main entry vestibule.
• 63’ x 28’ hardwood basketball court complete with adjustable hoops.

Additionally, the adjoining concrete parking lot was reconfigured to allow for parking for the staff while serving as the transportation hub for Youth Challenge’s fleet of lift equipped vans.
